So I finally uploaded an avatar thingy for here.  It was a lot simpler than I thought and I now feel really stupid for not having done it sooner.  I used one of my favorite shots of me and Trisha in our Alice & Boris cosplay from Ichibancon.  I totally <3 BorisxAlice. >.>

Speaking of, Ichibanon went well.  I didn't get all I wanted to get done finished cosplay wise, but it was a fun con.  I'm contemplating selling some of my Serah cosplay.  The wig is a mess and I don't really like the way it came out in the end. Ah well.  The next con I plan on going to is Animazement.  If I can get off from work, which I'm really hoping I can.

Even if I don't get to go to AZ, I've still got some cosplay goals I want to achieve by spring.  Mostly because I want to do fun photo shoots.  Like a tea party! I know I've done it before, but it is just so much fun! The goal is to upgrade my Alice cosplay, make a Filia Ul Copt cosplay, and Fluttershy's gala dress.  Luckily all are great for spring.  Shopping has gone well for these, and I need a few more things before I can really get going on them.  As I progress, I'm going to make a better list of what all needs to be purchased and done.

So instead of actually working on my cosplays for Ichibancon, I'm making a journal.  Unfortunately it is rainy today.  I was really hoping to get some spray painting done, but it is not going to happen today.  Also, I wanted to at least get Miwako's dress cut out, but Mother is expecting a clean room by the time she gets home.  Maybe if I speed clean.....
So here is the breakdown of my progress (or lack there of)


Shampoo - Bunny Girl Version
Ranma 1/2

I ordered a bunny girl costume online. It will match DMG5440.  We have to wait till it comes in to make the matching bunny ears and tail.  I'm more worried about the ears.  Tail shouldn't be too hard.  I have a wig, I just need to make the odango for it.  I'm debating on attaching them to the same headband that I'll use as a base for the ears. I have some black peep-toe stilettos. I will probably use those unless we find matching shoes on the cheap.  This will likely be my easiest costume with the least amount of work.

Alice in the Country of Hearts

I have so much to do for this one.  I couldn't find a dress I like so I'm going to make it from scratch if I have the time.  If not I'll just use my store bought one. *cringe*  No matter what I am going to make the apron though. I have all the materials and it should be relatively easy.  My wig isn't the exact right colour, but it will do.  I need to find blue & white striped socks.  About the only thing I've got are the shoes. T.T

I found a nifty deep pink dress with super poofy sleeves in the Goodwill by the pound.  I need to have it dry cleaned and then take off the train.  I've bought pale pink satin to make the trim on the bottom of the skirt and the bustle.  I bought gloves and earrings, but I'm making the rest of the accessories.   The crown will be made out of fun foam, a headband, cardboard, and some jewels stolen from dollar store princess wands.  The broach will be a wood base spray painted gold and I haven't quite figured out the gem yet. Paper mache?  I'm going with white go-go boots for this one and am using my Alice wig. I may get and style extensions if I have the time.

My most challenging.  I need to make almost everything from scratch.  The dress, dying the wig, the pigtails, bows, bra, choker.  The only thing I have are the black shoes and earrings. I may cry.

This is the cosplay I have the most done on. Mostly because I started it last year. >.>  My wig is still a hot mess, but at least I have the wefts dyed.  Going to try and work on it today if I can get my stupid wig head to hold still.  I need to make a few minor adjustments to the skirt and shirt.  I also have to re-paint the boots and re-make the leather band.  The vest is most likely non going to get done because I can't find fabric for it. Oh well.  I have the stockings, garters, hair tie, and bracelet done.  I made the necklace and earrings out of Sculpy (that shit is a bitch!) and all i need to do is put them together.

So, I've been on DA since Mar 29, 2007.  In about 3 years I have not done much with my account.  I am not a serious artist; I do photography for fun with my point-and-shoot camera and now my iPhone (surprisingly good for a phone camera, but I digress).  I had yet to make a journal entry or upload a DA ID until today, and had not uploaded much at all until this past week.  Mostly I came on DA to keep track of the art of some of my friends as well as to look at the art of others and favourite it.  Now, I find myself wanting to post my work, some of it is fairly decent I believe, yet there is much room for improvement.  I probably won't post many journals.  Some of my best work can be found on RedBubble where I share a joint account with DMG5440.  The accunt name is karasuhachidori, or just click: www.redbubble.com/people/karas… work is not differentiated, so I will leave it to you to guess who has done what.
